SUMMARY Perform a variety of solid surface/stone product shipping throughout California, Nevada, Arizona, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Montana. Must love driving, and must be able to spend 2-3 nights a week away from home. We book and pay for your hotels and give an overnight meal stipend. Job Description All applicants for this position must have 2+ years of experience driving a company truck, and handling heavy, delicate materials. They must be cautious, responsible, alert, observant, and focused on their own and others' safety at all times. Must be DRUG FREE PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES -Drive company truck for delivery of quartz/granite slabs. -Plan route to ensure most economical use of time and equipment. -Gather documentation of ordered materials, proof of delivery and COD during the routed and scheduled deliveries. -Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and report defects or repair needs to supervisor; keep equipment clean. -Assist in the installing and maintenance of traffic control devices. -Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards. Job Requirements KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma or GED equivalent, one (1) year relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job. Knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving. Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment. Ability to safely drive various vehicles. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors and the general public. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to work independently. Ability to perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions. Ability to make independent judgments which have moderate impacts on the organization. Pass a D.O.T. physical. Knowledge of diesel truck/trailers and/or mechanical skills are a PLUS!
