Description
Currently I'm looking to re-home my two birds. One of them is a Quacker Parrot (Quincy) and the other is a Budgie (Celeste). Both are males and they are bonded so they live together. They're good birds, we love them, but unfortunately my household and I just don't have the time to spend caring for them anymore and feel they deserve better.
I would prefer they go to an experienced bird owner because Quincy takes a lot of patience to work with. He's about 2 years old now and before we got him he suffered some kind of trauma from hands, so he's absolutely terrified of them. It took about 1 Year of working with him to get him to the point he'd step up on your hand but only to transfer to your shoulder. He doesn't stay there long. He still won't let you pet him or anything like that. He's just so scared of everything it takes a lot of time and patience to work with him. That's why I want someone with experience and bird knowledge to get him. Celeste is just your typical sassy male Budgie. He chirps a lot and he'll step up on your finger but he's bad about fluttering off once you've got him (even with his wings clipped!) But if you just gently but firmly hold onto his toe while holding him it keeps him from flying off and it doesn't hurt him.
The birds come with everything we have that's for them. Including 3 large bird cages, all their toys and any food we have left. I really love these birds and I hate to see them go but parrots are so smart and it's not fair to him and my other bird with how busy we are. There will be a rehoming fee obviously but it's negotiable, I just want them to go to the best possible home!
