Join us for for a film screening of "Manzanar, Diverted" followed by a three person panel discussing water rights in California and the PNW.
Manzanar Diverted is the official selection of more than five film festivals in 2021 including the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, as well as Big Sky Documentary Film Festival.
The film takes us from the majestic peaks of the snow-capped Sierras to the parched valley of Payahuunadü, “the land of flowing water.” MANZANAR, DIVERTED: WHEN WATER BECOMES DUST poetically weaves together memories of intergenerational women; Native Americans, Japanese-American WWII incarcerees and environmentalists form an unexpected alliance to defend their land and water from Los Angeles.
Join us for a free screening of the film, followed by a panel discussion, that takes the water issues of Los Angeles, and zooms out to discuss the universality of drought and water rights in the state of Oregon.
