What’s Meditation? Meditation is a mental workout used to exercise your brain and clear your mind. Meditation is an ancient practice believed to have originated in India several thousand years ago and was quickly adopted by the rest of the world. The practice has been used in many religions and cultural practices including Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Meditation works by slowing down our brain's ability to process information, therefore, producing a calmer zen state. Meditation is proven to lessen anxiety and depression and is believed to boost creativity. Those who meditate often are shown to have less stress, better memory, and even higher levels of compassion and empathy. In this workshop, we will take you in-depth on the origins of mediation, the scientific reasonings of mediation, and you will be taken through a guided meditation session, where you will be taught how to meditate at home and how to implement it into daily life. This is sure to be lots of fun so bring a friend. This session is free of charge and all are welcome from meditation experts to beginners!
