Looking for a PIANO PLAYER!!! You can be male or female of any culture and over the age of 35, but most of all you must be able to PLAY with the strongest and deepest of passion for the music we will be playing TOGETHER and know not only JAZZ...but MUSIC overall. You must be able to jam, improvise and willing to explore the music that is selected to play. For now, we are doing jazz standards until we find the right musicians and then we will focus on originals as well. We absolutely do not use any charts whatsoever. You MUST be able to internalize the music, know the basic arrangement, melodies, harmonies and then be able to create from them. If you are familiar with: McCoy Tyner, Monty Alexander, Bud Powell, Duke Ellington, Chick Corea, Lonnie Liston Smith, Chester Thompson, Herbie Hancock, Alice Coltrane, Joe Zawinul, Bill Evans, Jan Hammer, Eddie Palmieri, Red Garland, George Duke, Art Tatum, Thelonius Monk, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Tyrone Downie, Billy Preston, Dave Brubeck, Keith Jarret, Ahmad Jamal, Cecil Taylor, Barry Harris, Horace Silver, Mary Lou Williams, Hazel Scott, Randy Wetson, Count Basie, John Lewis, Chucho Valdes, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Sun Ra, Carla Bley, Elaine Elias, Geri Allen, Sewlyn Brown, Patrice Rushen, Hilton Ruiz and more, then we would like to hear from you.
