Visit an innovative Berkeley brewery known for their barrel-aged sour beer, see their manufacturing process and taste some craft beer. For Bay Area Manufacturing Week 2021, the City of Berkeley Office of Economic Development is excited to announce an event promoting Berkeley-based brewery The Rare Barrel on October 5th, 2021! The Rare Barrel has been making barrel-aged sour beer in Berkeley since 2012. They’ve also recently launched Hello Friend, a new Berkeley-made craft beer available in the tasting room only. This event is a chance to see The Rare Barrel’s beer manufacturing process, learn more about how a brewery operates in Berkeley, and try some great, locally-brewed craft beers! You’ll get an inside look at their barrel aging process and how they incorporate fruit into their sour beers. The tour of the brewery will end with a tasting on their outdoor patio. This event will follow all of the City of Berkeley COVID-19 guidelines including proof of full vaccination.
