Press Operator - Day Shift

Job Summary: The Press Operator is responsible for keeping production flowing at the press. At the direction of the supervisor, the Press Operator will direct press helpers and inform them of change overs, print tickets, adjust set points on machines, and other duties as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Print tickets for material made, ensure lot ID numbers match with specific product. • Adjust hot press settings for panels (PSI, Timer, Temperature, and Clouston). Variety of products require different settings; operator must be familiar with press setting handbook. • Relieve press employees for breaks and load panels into the hot press. • Use conveyers to move plywood from pre-press to hot press. • Press operator will need to work closely with Quality Control (QC) to ensure product meets established standards. • Cross train in other areas and fill in, as needed, when production needs require. Will be required to attain MEO card for forklift operation. • Report any quality or productivity concerns to Q.C. and supervisor. • Report any damaged and quantity short/over panels to supervisor. • Report any downtime immediately to shift supervisor and maintenance. • Inspect equipment for safety concerns and report concerns to supervisor. • Identify abnormal variations in temperature, steam, PSI, Clouston.
