PEABODY, MA — These Peabody students were among those recently earning academic or athletic distinction at colleges and universities across the nation. Several Peabody students were among those who earned President's List honors at Southern New Hampshire University this summer. Full-time students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above are named to the President's List. The Peabody students achieving that status were Luiz Silva, Allison Cormier, Anthony Arduino, Yule-Eve Kim, Nicholas Wilson, Raymond Serrano, Sherly Boudreau, Seth Chouinard, Janelle Elliott and Amanda Dubois. Elizabeth Flynn was been named to Southern New Hampshire University's summer 2021 Dean's List. Eligibility for the Dean's List requires that a student accumulate an academic grade point average f 3.5-3.699 and earn 12 credits for the term. Nichols College has welcomed Peabody students Samuel Batista and Jacob Colella to practice. Benjamin Healey was named to first honors on the Clark University Dean's List. This selection marks outstanding academic achievement during the spring 2021 semester. Students must have a GPA of 3.8 or above for first honors or a GPA between 3.50 and 3.79 for second honors. The University of Rhode Island celebrated more than 4,000 of its newest alumni during the University's 135th Commencement. Among the graduates was Vanessa Vargas of Peabody, who received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. More than 3,700 undergraduate degrees and 680 graduate degrees were conveyed to students during nine individual ceremonies held over three days, May 21-23. Senior Sofia Rodriguez was among five returning starters on the Lasell College field hockey team, which was picked to finish second in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference this fall.
