Press release from Northshore School District: 2021-09-16 Congratulations to the six Northshore students who were named National Merit semifinalists. Nationally, about 16,000 students were named semifinalists this year.  Bothell High School Nathan Hendrickson Kylie Neal Inglemoor High School Daria Levenkova Katie Li Gabriela Pletosu North Creek High School Spencer Tran These high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $30 million that will be offered next spring.  High school juniors entered the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2020 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®), which served as an initial screen of program entrants. The nationwide pool of semifinalists includes the highest-scoring entrants in each state. The number of semifinalists in a state is proportional to the state's percentage of the national total of graduating seniors. To be considered for a scholarship award, semifinalists must fulfill several requirements to advance to the finalist level of the competition.
