Boulder County Seeks Feedback On CO 119 Bikeway Design

BOULDER COUNTY, CO — Boulder County transportation and planning officials are seeking feedback from commuters on the design for the CO Highway 119 bikeway between Longmont and Boulder. A public survey on the project will remain open until Sept. 27, the county said. The Diagonal Highway CO 119 Bikeway Design Project aims to create a safe, direct, accessible and comfortable path between the two cities. The route will also connect riders with other important bike networks, rapid transit and commuter rail, transportation officials said. You can take the public survey here. The results will be used to inform important decisions about the design, the county said. Around 45,000 vehicles travel along CO 119 between Boulder and Longmont each day, project planners said. That traffic is expected to increase by 25 percent by 2040. A range of improvements have been proposed for revamping the corridor, which is considered one of the most dangerous arteries in the county, officials said.
