Guitar Player Needs Bass Player

Description

Hi everyone, I’m forming a band and my first addition will be a bass player. I’m an OK singer but where I shine is my guitar playing abilities. I’ve mastered the Michael Hedges technique. I can play many of his songs and I even got a harp-guitar so I could learn his harp-guitar songs. I bring a lot to the table. I have many songs, covers and originals and I have a lot of ideas for possible performances. I want to eventually be able to get paying gigs. I’m 56 and I believe the ideal candidate will be between the ages of 40 and 60. The reason for this is the songs and concepts for the band and our performances will be aimed at older folks. The songs I have in mind need to speak to you. I want you to want to play these songs otherwise it’s no fun. It would also be good if you’ve already been a part of a working band because I don’t have that experience. And you need to be a better singer than me. But for right now I’m Michael Hedges and I’m looking for Michael Manring. If you know who he is then you’ll know what I have in mind. One of the songs I would eventually like to do is The Way We Used To by Jim Croce. So I’m asking you to go to YouTube and listen to this piece. It’s a great song but what’s most amazing about this song is the bass part. That syncopated thing he does at the end of the chorus is just so cool. I would even say that the bass part outshines the rest of the song. I also recommend listening to some of Michael Hedges pieces on YouTube so you can get an idea of what I can do. Search for Peg Leg Speed King, Layover and Because It’s There. So that’s it for now. I’m looking forward to hearing from you. Namaste’ P.S. The photos are a few years old.
