Purpose & Objective: The Automotive Technician role is a key member of our Star Auto Inc's shop team. Our mechanics complete the repairs, services, and requests that our dealer requires. In addition to producing our service tickets, shop repair requests, customer vehicles maintenance, this role also performs the critical task of inspecting vehicles to find repairs and services that are needed on a customer’s vehicle. Job Responsibilities and Duties - Accurately completing services and repairs on customer’s vehicles: Technicians are required to be experts and be able to complete services and repairs with integrity, excellence, precision, efficiency, and extreme care. Expected to inspect each vehicle as needed and complete your work orders within a strict deadline. - Cleaning and Prep is a huge part of our sharp, as we focus on cleanliness and organization. Additional responsibilities and duties can be assigned depending on the volume of traffic. Skills, Qualification, and Abilities - Must have at least 1-5 years of experience working as a technician in an automobile repair facility - Advanced knowledge and skill in passenger automobile diagnostics, including using a diagnostic tree, performing testing procedures to discover the cause (and repairs needed) to resolve a customer complaint - Advanced knowledge, ability, and skill in performing mechanical repairs and services all types of vehicles, including removing and reinstalling parts, and doing service procedures - Knowledge and skill of how to perform a thorough inspection on a passenger automobile for the purpose of finding service and repairs needed based on the miles and condition of the vehicle - Ability to clearly communicate in English with others verbally and in various written forms - Ability to manage all vehicle repairs without supervision - Ability to self-diagnose a vehicle's problem - Ability to lift more than 50lbs without assistance - Ability to stand for extended periods of time - Able to perform basic counting and math - Ability to perform major and fine motor skill movements using the body to perform the necessary actions to complete a repair, service, vehicle inspection, or shop cleaning activity. This includes the ability to reach overhead, push, pull, bend down, stoop, and other major body movements. - Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned at any time with or without notice.
