JOLIET, IL — A 49-year-old man and a 53-year-old man from outside Will County each face two counts of felony retail theft in connection with their visit to the Joliet Home Depot store at 3001 Plainfield Road over the summer. A Will County grand jury returned criminal indictments this week against Santo Catalano of Norridge and Robert Van Dyke of North Aurora.
The two men visited the Plainfield Road Home Depot store on June 30 and during their visit they stole copper and that has a retail value of more than $300, according to the criminal complaint submitted by Joliet Police Detective Brad McKeon.
Catalano has a previous retail theft conviction from 2008 in Cook County and Van Dyke has a 2020 retail theft conviction from Lake County, court records show.
An arrest warrant was issued Thursday with bail set at $10,000 for Catalano and $30,000 for Van Dyke.
