JOLIET, IL — Several thousand people are expected to be lined up along Collins Street on Saturday afternoon for one of Joliet's most important community events, the Mexican Independence Day Parade.
Joliet's annual party will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18.
The Mexican Independence Day parade begins north of the Old Joliet Prison on Collins Street near the corner of Williamson Avenue. The route continues about seven blocks. It ends near Cass Street.
