Fuel4 is a premier and high end luxury event design company specializing in upscale Holiday and Christmas decor in the greater Tampa Bay area. We currently have an opening for a contract Floral and Event Designer. The ideal candidate will have previous floral or event design experience, be creative, motivated, and SUPER hardworking. Candidates must be willing to work a variety of hours including weekends as we have multiple events and installs every weekday and weekend throughout our portfolio of hotel and country club properties. This position will required flexible hours and overtime beginning October - January. Responsibilities will include: Designing and preparing Holiday themed designs and Events as assigned by the Lead Designer. Meeting with clients and designing Holiday themed decor and events. Provide specialized design and floral expertise to plan, design and create Christmas Trees, Wreaths, Garlands, Displays, Events, Centerpieces for events and semi permanent installs for Hotels, Event Venues, Country Clubs and Private Homes. Constructing /Decorating/Designing Christmas Trees, Wreaths, Garlands, Retails Displays, Store Windows, Fresh and faux floral arrangements and Events. Create design specifications to create decor for various events. Participate in the planning, ordering, receiving and processing of floral, decor, ornament and supply product. Manage and oversee with decor setup including onsite installations during normal business hours, weekends and Holidays. This position requires MANDATORY weeknight, weekend and overnight availability. Ability to manage team of contract and freelance labor. Make schedules, manage work flow and oversee decorating team. Create, design, gather, count, and divide product according to floral recipes Sort, organize, clean and restock supplies. Pulling and restocking floral and related decor, loading/unloading, and delivery/pick-up. Ensure that event facility/venue is left in a clean and orderly condition. Assist with loading/unloading of vehicles and operate company vans and lifts Properly pack and handle inventory to protect against damage and deterioration. Ensure that designs meet corporate and client expectations are within budget and deadlines are met Cultivate a creative and collaborative environment to inspire design and build cohesive teams within the department, division and properties Adhere to safety procedures and recommend programs to improve production and safety Complete all required paperwork, monitor for accuracy and consistency Stay current in design trends, floral techniques and vendor products Preferred Experience: Two-year work experience in Floral or Event Design or related field- Retail merchandising a huge plus. Knowledge of fresh floral product and design technique, floral processing, product, design and mechanics Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume production environment Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time as well as lift up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis. Possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive passenger and cargo vans Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts and clients. Professional appearance and demeanor, be willing to adhere to company dress code Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays Ability to help with loading and unloading floral trucks Portfolio preferred- THIS IS NOT A DIY POSITION.
