Press release from the City of Golden Valley: September 17, 2021 Absentee voting for the 2021 local election begins today and runs through Mon, Nov 1. Election Day is Tues, Nov 2. Any eligible voter may vote by absentee ballot for any reason, and absentee ballots can be cast by mail or in person. Check the City website for the requirements and process for voting absentee. Vote By Mail To vote by mail, go to www.hennepin.us/residents/elections/absentee-voting, print and complete an absentee ballot application, and return it to Hennepin County Elections either by mail, email, or fax. The County will mail the ballot to you once the application is completed. Vote In Person Absentee Voting Golden Valley City Hall is open 8 am–4:30 pm, Mon–Fri through election day. Direct balloting, where voters place completed ballots directly into the voting machine, begins Oct 26, 2021. Extended absentee voting hours are available the Saturday and Monday before the election (Oct 30, 10 am–3 pm, and Nov 1 until 5 pm). Election Day Voting All polling places in Golden Valley will be open 7 am–8 pm on election day, Nov 2.
