CLEVELAND — After an hours-long SWAT standoff, a barricaded man was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound on Thursday. At 2:30 p.m., Cleveland police were called to E. 124th for reports of gunshots. Officers arrived and found a woman on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds to her chest. She was declared dead on the scene, police said. An armed suspect was tracked to a locked home nearby. The SWAT team was then called to the scene and surrounded the home. Live in Cleveland? At 10:30 p.m., eight hours after officers first arrived, SWAT entered the barricaded home and found the suspect dead. He had apparently shot himself in the head, police said. Investigators are exploring the incident as a possible murder-suicide, police said.
