Kroger Customers Can Round Up Purchase Costs To Feed Hungry

ATLANTA — Metro Atlanta area Kroger stores are raising money through the end of September for the Atlanta Community Food Bank. In recognition of September as Hunger Action Month, Kroger customers can round up their purchases with 100 percent of the donations going to the Food Bank through Sept. 30 to feed those in need. This is part of the grocery chain's "Help End Hunger Here" initiative, and Kroger's Zero Hunger | Zero Waste Foundation is partnering with the Feeding America network in an aim to create communities free from hunger. "We are excited about our continuing partnership with Feeding America and its network of food banks, which includes the Atlanta Community Food Bank," Felix Turner, manager of corporate affairs for Kroger's Atlanta Division, said in a statement. "By working together with our associates, customers and communities we can achieve the vision of Zero Hunger | Zero Waste." Patch has partnered with Feeding America to help raise awareness on behalf of the millions of Americans facing hunger. Feeding America, which supports 200 food banks across the country, estimates that in 2021, about 42 million Americans may not have enough nutritious food to eat due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
