Retooling original rock band. Looking for experienced lead guitarist, who sings, backups at least. We have two sets of (mostly) original songs. Currently (both male) bassist and singer/guitarist. Both of us write. We're open to new material, but the current list is definitely the priority first. Shredding isn't really the vibe; feeling the material, serving the songs, and working with the textures and sonic possibilities are much more important. That said, solos are written into the songs. Dynamics are good. Volume/aggression are also good, in their place. Groove, important. Arrangement and writing skills, very welcome. Recording ability/background is a big plus. Stylistically we're wide-ranging: ska-reggae, roots rock, r&b/funk. (Sorry no metal or hard country, no judgement!) Multi-instrumentalist would be a great addition. We have clips/recordings you can review, after an initial conversation. We're mature, experienced, patient, reasonable, friendly, on time. We expect the same. Please don't be too high to play well. (Again, no judgement.) We try to use practice time to practice, not hang out. We're not as tight-assed as this all sounds. Not looking for a hired gun, but rather a partnership. We practice weekly, currently in Metro West and are open to reasonably nearby spaces for practice. That said, the current space we use is free, comfortable, and has PA and drums, so you're not expected to lay out any cash. You should have your own transpo and gear already. Weeknight practices are typical. All genders, racial backgrounds, ethnicities are welcome. Politics and drama stay at home; fyi we lean progressive. Re: gigging, we are realistic. There is no money in music right now. Don't expect it. There is work out there, we will play shows. We want to get the material out there.
