All of the Macdonald Residence residents have specific, complex needs and often a history of behavioral health and addictions challenges. As a Maintenance Tech you will also be supporting the facility in its ongoing endeavor to deliver comprehensive, holistic health models. You will be supported by caring and competent individuals that are passionate about community. The Macdonald Residence is a 54 unit ALF that has worked to help break isolation in this community for the past 25 years. The Macdonald Residence is licensed by the State of Oregon and through our Specific Needs Contract. We serve individuals whom often have a difficult time being accepted into other community-based care facilities. We strive to provide a safe, inclusive environment where our residents can thrive. DESIRED SKILLS (includes, but not limited to): Good communication skills. Aptitude to respond and complete work order requests promptly. All assigned work orders should be performed in a timely and efficient manner with emphasis on quality and safety. Work orders may include repair of appliances, HVAC units, plumbing, painting, electrical, carpentry and other repairs as assigned. All work is completed under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor. If outside the employee’s ability, it may be outsourced to a vendor with supervisory approval. Turn vacant units and make them ready for move-in. This may include prep work, sheetrock repair, painting, replacement and/or repair of appliances, cabinets, countertops, exterior & interior doors, tiles, sub-flooring, electrical trouble-shooting and repair of broken windows. Other repairs may include plumbing connections with sinks, toilets, tubs/showers, scheduling cleaning or replacement of carpet, and cleaning of unit. General upkeep of the units and landscaping, including cleaning all common areas (i.e., hallways, laundry room, play area, recreation room, rest rooms and lobby). Upkeep of all common area or vacant unit floors: includes vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, polishing, and steam cleaning when needed. Dust and polish furniture including woodwork. Collect litter daily and maintain dumpster areas according to health and safety standards. DESIRED KNOWLEDGE: 3 years experience in related field Working knowledge of building systems, HVAC, plumbing and electrical is strongly preferred Computer experience a plus High School diploma and/or GED is preferred; some college is a plus Physical Requirements: Able to operate a variety of equipment as needed for the property’s upkeep Must have the dexterity to climb latter, push brooms, dig with a shovel, and operate landscape equipment Able to use electric and manual hand tools Able to bend, sit, climb, stoop, push, pull and lift 50 lbs – as needed Able to traverse the property and units on a daily basis; will include climbing stairs TriMet HOP cards or $100 in parking reimbursement offered to all employees upon hire. Health, Dental, Vision benefits offered after 60 day probationary period--health benefit premiums paid by employer. COVID vaccination or Religious or Medical Exemption required by government mandate. Daily temperature checks and face masks still currently required. Increased testing and safety protocols mandatory for exempted employees in order to keep this facility COVID free.
