Description
We have made the extremely tough decision to rehome our beloved 1.5 year old, male, English Springer Spaniel, Tucker. We are moving out of state and don't feel it's right to take him to a different climate and much smaller yard. We will require your address and will do research to make sure your yard/home will be conducive to the way of life he is accustomed to. We love him and want to find him the perfect home, so we are going to be extremely picky. Please DO NOT inquire about him unless you fit these parameters. Must Have: -House with fenced in yard (no apartments or townhouses or condos - don't even reach out) -At least a.25 acre lot. The bigger the lot size the better. Major plus if you have acreage for him to roam and work. -Work from home or home most of the time, no jobs where you are gone all day 5+ days a week. It's a plus for us if you have: -Kids -Other animals About Tucker: We have had him since he was 10 weeks old, purchased from a breeder in Washington. He has always been healthy with no issues, up to date on all vaccines and of course we will furnish those papers. We eats Natural Balance dog food and we will provide a bag of that food to his new owner and of course you could switch him to what works for you as long as you do it slowly to not upset his stomach, so that's why we are going to provide food. Tucker is about 40lbs. Black and white coloring. He is an extremely sweet boy that loves his family. He is crate trained and sleeps in his crate at night but is also fine to be left out in the house to roam at night. We tend to leave him out in the house to roam while we are gone during the day but sometimes we crate him. He is not house destructive at all, however he loves to chew up paper towels and sometimes toilet paper if the mood strikes. He also on occasion will get ahold of one of our sons toys and chew it up, he doesn't do this too much anymore. He does not ever eat toys or paper towels, just chews them up. His naughty habits are: counter surfing. He loves to put his paws up on the counter and try to steal food and it drives us crazy. He listens to us when we tell him to get off the counter but he still does it and we have been trying to break him of it. Also, he does not love to be left inside if his family is going to be outside and he can see or hear us, he will bark and whine and jump on a door or window because he wants to be outside with us. Also, we have allowed him to be on our furniture so it will likely be hard to completely break him of being allowed on furniture. He has never slept in our bed though, he may lay up there at times but has never been allowed to sleep in the bed with us. He loves kids and has been in a home with very young kids since he was a puppy. Our home has 2 kids ages 3.5 and 7 weeks old. He loves to play rough with the 3.5 year old when the 3.5 year old wants to but he is never mean at all, just a good play companion. He is extremely patient and doesn't react to hair being pulled or anything like that. He is also very good with other dogs and cats. He goes to a kennel quite frequently where he is in a room with up to 15-20 other dogs at a time and he does great. He has been around my parents cat a ton and he loves him as well. He hasn't been around any other types of animals besides dogs & cats. He does love to chase birds and squirrels. His breed is a bird hunting dog and we think he would make a great one with proper training. He is not very good on a leash, he pulls. We have not taken him on many walks as we have almost an acre that he runs around in all day so walks haven't been necessary. He’s not great in a car but he tolerates car rides. He sometimes pees a little bit when he’s nervous or very excited, that seems to get better the older he gets. PLEASE only inquire if you are serious and fit our parameters, if you do not we will not even entertain you as a new owner for him. We will not be giving him to just anyone. We will require the family/people to come meet him and us in person before we make any commitments. Everything we have of his will be going with him (kennel, bed, toys, food, bowls, leash, collar). We are asking a rehoming fee of $100. Don’t respond if you aren’t okay with us asking for your address, we need to make sure he is going to a good home with a large yard.
