Statewide Land Surveying, Inc. (SWLS) is located in Gresham, OR and focuses on habitat and environmental surveying along the Columbia River drainage and beyond. SWLS is interviewing for entry level and/or experienced Field Technicians who are willing to work in the field applying modern survey technique utilizing Trimble Robotic instrumentation and GPS equipment. Expectations of Applicant: • Assist Crew Chief in the field as an understudy, learning to master surveying equipment/operation/maintenance and surveying tasks for a variety of projects including: Topographic mapping, hydrographic mapping, cadastral/boundary surveys, and construction. • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing • Represent the Company in a professional manner • Willingness to work in a variety of outdoor environments and weather conditions • Work productively as part of a Field Crew and independently Requirements: • Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others • Strong/demostrable math skills, (classwork in geometry, algebra, and trigonometry) • Ability to learn quickly • Regular, punctual attendance • Valid driver’s license • Carry tripod and backpack over terrain typical of Pacific Northwest • Ability to be around bees • Swim, work at heights, perceive color • Spend a few days to a week or more out of town (occasionally) • Pass a drug test • Proper use of personal protective equipment (as required) Personal Conditioning: Maintain a physical condition conducive to walking over uneven surfaces, standing for extended periods, stooping, crawling, crouching, climbing, sitting, heavy lifting, hammering, carrying survey equipment/supplies, audiovisual acuity, manual and physical dexterity SWLS offers an excellent compensation and benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan with a company match, vacation, bereavement, and paid holidays.
