Join a fast-growing tree service company in Massachusetts. Iron Tree Service is seeking a qualified, experienced, hard-working heavy equipment diesel mechanic to repair and maintain our fleet of trucks and machines used in tree removal and related services. Our team of assistant mechanics will assist you with maintaining our equipment to make sure it continues to operate at optimum efficiency. As lead mechanic, you know how to troubleshoot problems, use diagnostic tools and be hands-on. There are situations which require field repair. Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, fuel and brake lines and related mechanical systems is important. Education & Certification Requirements: • High School diploma or G.E.D. • Postsecondary degrees in diesel technology, heavy equipment mechanics, engine repair, engineering a plus. • USOT Medical Examiner's Certificate Required • CDL Class A Preferred • OSHA 10 Hours Construction Safety Card Required Requirements and Responsibilities: • Diagnose and repair all heavy equipment, including cranes, chip trucks, bucket trucks, etc. • Perform inspections and regular preventive maintenance. • Prepare and maintain records and reports. • Ensure and maintain a safe and clean operating work area that is compliant with state, federal and internal regulations. • Positive, "can-do" attitude and excellent work ethic • Ability to move/lift 50 lbs. • Mechanical Skills: you will need familiarity with parts and components of complex machinery and engines, as well as the tools required to fix them. • Technical Skills: you will need to be familiar with electronics, be able to read schematics and diagrams, or use electronic diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot repairs. • Ability to diagnose issues with engines, hydraulics, air brakes and electrical systems • Strong mechanical, troubleshooting and diagnostic Skills • Computer Skills: you will need to be able to operate a computer and use the shop software system. • Available at least 50 hours per week and for emergencies • Welding and fabrication experience a plus Experienced Lead Diesel Mechanic - Heavy Equipment will be working on (including (Kenworth, Peterbilt, International.
