The City of Boston and Rize Foundation are proud to welcome author Patrick Radden Keefe for a discussion of his recent bestselling book. An in-person conversation with Patrick Radden Keefe and moderator Christopher Lydon will take place Sunday, September 19, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Old South Church in Boston (at the corner of Dartmouth and Boylston Streets at the Copley MBTA station). The event will also be livestreamed to the Mayor's Office of Arts and Culture's Facebook page. "Empire of Pain" is a grand, devastating portrait of three generations of the Sackler family, famed for their philanthropy, whose fortune was built by Valium and whose reputation was destroyed by OxyContin. From the prize-winning and bestselling author of "Say Nothing", as featured in the HBO documentary, "Crime of the Century". Books will be made available on site by Trident Booksellers.
