AMHERST JAVA AND JAZZ PRESENTED BY AMHERST GLEBE ARTS RESPONSE AND SECOND STAGE "A POTPOURRI OF JAZZ" AGAR and Second Stage Amherst Present: AMHERST JAVA AND JAZZ The Quintana All Stars – “A Potpourri of JAZZ.” September 25, 2021 — 6 to 8 pm. Lynchburg’s beloved Quintana All-Stars. Tunes by Freddie Hubbard, Antonio Carlos Joabim, Ed Mikenas, Dizzy Gillespie and Keith Jarrett, mixed with some early R&B and the American Songbook. Al Mallet, sax, Ernest Deane, trumpet, Tyler Coleman, drums, Gary Meisner piano and Ed Mikenas, bass. Gary Meisner, originally from Minnesota, was for many years the chief arranger for the Hal Leonard Music Publishing Company, while Tyler Coleman, the group’s latest member, plays with the University of Lynchburg Community Jazz Ensemble, as did Ed Mikenas. Al Mallet and Ernest Deane have played together since they were students at Dunbar High School in the 1950s. MASKS MUST BE WORN IN BUILDING
