ROC United, PA Attorney General’s Office to Host Information Session with Restaurant Workers Struggling with Substance Abuse
On Monday, September 20, 2021, at 4:15 pm EDT, the Restaurant Opportunities Center (ROC) of Pennsylvania, along with the PA Attorney General’s Office, will host an information session to tackle substance abuse among restaurant workers in the state. The meeting will take place on the outdoor patio of Sam’s Morning Glory Diner at 735 S 10th Street, in downtown Philadelphia.
The session aims to speak directly with restaurant workers struggling with substance abuse about the addictive nature of opiates and other powerful drugs, and give them an opportunity to share their stories—one way of connecting them with health experts and inspiring others who may be struggling with substance abuse.
The event also focuses on ways to engage and provide the affected restaurant workers and their families with the support that they need, including treatment options and drug addiction resources to combat substance abuse.
Representatives of the media are cordially invited. RSVP is highly recommended to attend the event. While it is an outdoor venue, all participants—restaurant workers, community partners, supporters and members of the press—will be required to wear a mask during the event.
