Description

Hello. I have a sweet giant dog for adoption for person/family without other dogs This boy is an absolute angel for the right person! The right person: * has read up on great pyrenees and anatolian shepherd and determined that those breeds are a good fit for their lifestyle and energy level * has no other pets * has some experience with dogs * can take on a big dog - has room in car, home, yard, etc * has a fenced-in yard (no apartments) * has love to give this big baby. he soaks it up and needs to be near his person/people. * has no small children (he could accidentally hurt them because of his size * will walk him regularly (at least 3x a week) About the dog: * He is a huge sweetheart. He absolutely loves people, especially women. * Responds well to gentle correction (a stern "leave it" if he tries to sniff the counter, for example). * He would be the perfect home guardian and protector on walks. You will soon see that he is a huge baby and will gaze at you adoringly and follow you around, but he is big and imposing, with a big bark and would almost certainly scare off anyone with bad intentions. * He is dominant towards other dogs and dog-aggressive, so should be the only pet in the house. * He is a perfect gentleman in the house. He is house-broken and we had no problems with him chewing anything inappropriate, counter surfing, getting into garbage, etc. He loads into the car well, is calm, and lies down nicely for the ride. * He would love to sleep at the foot of your bed and have regular snuggle sessions. (Did I mention he's a big baby?) * He walks well on a leash and loves to go for walks! He would appreciate and benefit greatly from regular walks/hikes. Because he is dog-aggressive, at times, I would recommend walking him with a gentle leader collar (will be provided) or something similar that will give you more control just in case he decides to snarl at another dog on the walk. * Needs a fenced-in yard (he is great pyrenees and anatolian shepherd and they will wander and not come when you call if they are investigating something, by nature). * He is neutered, up to date on shots. * I might be partial, but I think he's gorgeous with his sweet brown eyes and beautiful markings. * He's a little bit of a goofball, like a big puppy sometimes. It's quite endearing. * Typical with the Livestock Guardian Dogs, he has double-dewclaws that will need to be trimmed. He stands patiently while being bathed. If I didn't have other dogs, it would be a no-brainer to keep this guy. He is super sweet and yet would be a good protector, if needed. He's the total package for the right person!
