IFF is excited to present a screening of A24’s ZOLA written & directed by the acclaimed Janicza Bravo - who we were lucky enough to welcome as a guest speaker at our 2021 festival. Zola (Taylour Paige), a Detroit waitress, strikes up a new friendship with a customer, Stefani (Riley Keough), who seduces her to join a weekend of dancing and partying in Florida. But the trip transforms into a 48-hour journey involving a nameless pimp, an idiot boyfriend, some Tampa gangsters and other unexpected adventures in this wild, see-it-to-believe-it tale. A stranger-than-fiction saga shared in a now iconic series of viral, uproarious tweets by A’Ziah King (aka Zola) comes to dazzling cinematic life in this film, which Variety called the "must-see movie of the summer.” FREE and open to the public.
