The King George Hotel in beautiful Union Square is looking to hire a Chief Engineer to reopen the hotel. The Chief Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the engineering department. This position will oversee the administrative, financial, and operating aspects of the hotel as they relate to engineering and maintenance. This position primarily oversees the King George Hotel, with support to The Inn at Union Square. Core Functions 1. Adhere to Oxford Hotels & Resorts, LLC guidelines and core values to ensure the health, safety and comfort of our team members and guests. 2. Manage the development and implementation of plans to maintain property, equipment, grounds and other assets in a safe and acceptable state of repair. 3. Create and implement preventative maintenance program for all hotel equipment. 4. Assist with the administration of all vendor contracts controlled by the engineering department. 5. Ensure that room maintenance requests are handled in a prompt and courteous manner. 6. Create and post all Engineering staffs schedules. 7. Create and adhere to annual budget for department. 8. Supervise and train all Engineering staff in guest service, standard operating procedures, loss prevention, and other trainings as assigned. 9. Ensure all emergency and life safety equipment and systems are inspected, tested and certified per Oxford Hotels & Resorts, LCC standards. 10. Follow up on all alarms immediately to determine the exact location and cause. Determine emergency status and report findings to Front Desk. Take immediate action as necessary. 11. Assist as necessary with special projects and renovations. Qualifications • 2 years minimum of hotel experience as a maintenance department supervisor or progressive maintenance responsibility. • Previous supervisory experience overseeing employees preferred. • Working knowledge of electricity, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, screening, locks, HVAC, boiler operations, and proper tool and chemical use. • High School diploma or equivalent required. • Licensed in a trade (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.) preferred.
