BROOKLINE, MA — Brookline Interactive Group (BIG), a local media nonprofit, has officially reopened for the fall season with "Couch to Creativity," a series of classes and events intended to spark creativity after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Inspired by the "Couch to 5K" training program for runners, BIG's new series is designed to help beginners, as well as those who are out of practice or want to learn a new skill, create digital media.
"If you're ready to flex your creative muscles and to create your own podcast, film or tv show, photo exhibit, or any other number of artistic projects, consider this your invitation to get off the couch and start creating at BIG!" said the organization in a news release.
This fall's topics will include, podcasting, conducting video interviews, animation, and more. There will also be a "Personal Projects" class to help those who are further along on their creative paths be held accountable and receive assistance and feedback.
In addition to its classes, BIG is also providing several other opportunities for local creators, including Crowdsourced Boston, an annual collaborative filmmaking effort that is currently recreating Jurassic Park, and the Fall 2021 11-Day Film Sprint, which will give artists an opportunity to show off the skills they build over the course of the fall.
