I don't know anyone who is against background checks. Assumptions comes from ignorance of the facts. I am only able to exercise my right to carry because of my background and the mandatory training I received. The media will always focus on the extreme never showing the truth that lies within deep middle of a story. Some would have anyone walk into a store and buy a gun and there are those who would ban them all. It's a matter of choice to own or carry in the nation and the assumption that I do comes from fear is correct I suppose, no different then the fear it takes to keep locks on your doors, or a seat belt around your waist. More likely to shoot first? I challenge you to provide where some NRA member, carrying legally for personal protection has gone crazy and shoot any innocent citizen....and I'll be happy to provide dozens and dozens of true stories of those who saved the lives of innocent citizens. The disasters are in your head...reality is in mine.
