Attempted Bank Robbery Reported In Woodbridge: Police

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A man attempted to rob the BB&T bank in Dillingham Square in Woodbridge on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Prince William County Police Department. Police said the man fled the bank before he received any money. Police responded to the bank just before 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 15 to investigate the attempted robbery. "The investigation revealed that an unknown man entered the bank and approached the teller counter," the police department wrote in their report. "The man passed a note to the teller demanding money and implied he was armed." Before police arrived, the man fled the scene. Authorities believe that the man may have fled the area on foot. A police K-9 searched the area, along with a helicopter from the Fairfax County Police Department. The suspect was not located during the search. Authorities believe the suspect was in the bank earlier in the day. "Nothing of note occurred during that encounter," the police department said. He was last seen wearing a blue and gray flannel shirt, light-colored jeans, gray shoes, and a red hat.
