MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — Montgomery College will now require COVID-19 vaccines for all faculty, staff, administrators and students. Students will need to submit proof of vaccination before the spring semester begins on Jan. 7, 2022, and all employees must submit proof by the first day they are scheduled to be back on campus — the college announced it is pushing that date to Nov. 8. It was originally scheduled to be Oct. 4. They are currently required to work at least two days on campus. Anyone can apply for a medical or religious exemption and if they are granted it, the student or employee will be required to do weekly COVID-19 tests. "If students and employees embrace a vaccination requirement, we will strengthen the safety of our campuses and their homes and the communities in which they live," Montgomery College Interim President Charlene Dukes said in a news release.
