FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A Fredericksburg man has been charged with murder in connection with the death of his roommate, the Fredericksburg Police Department announced on Thursday. Christopher Alexander was arrested in connection with the death that was originally reported as a suicide. On Saturday, Sept. 11, Fredericksburg's 9-1-1 call center received a report from a concerned citizen, according to the police department. The caller said they heard a single gunshot fired at an apartment in the 2000 block of Woodlyn Drive. "Patrol officers responded and met with one of the tenants who reported a female died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound," the police department said on Thursday. "Upon further investigation and an autopsy, Fredericksburg Police detectives determined the victim was murdered." On Wednesday, Sept. 15, the Fredericksburg Police Department arrested Seay's roommate, Christopher Alexander, and charged him in connection with her death. Alexander is charged with second degree murder, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and discharging a firearm within city limits causing injury.
