Description
ARLINGTON, VA — COVID-19 vaccination data slightly increased in Arlington and two other Virginia health districts due to a data transfer from Maryland.
The increase represents Virginians who were vaccinated in Maryland jurisdictions, according to the Virginia Department of Health. First dose rates increased by 0.46 percent in Arlington, 0.33 percent in Alexandria, and 0.39 percent in the Eastern Shore. The fully vaccinated rate increased by 0.25 percent in Arlington, 0.28 percent in Alexandria, and 0.91 percent in the Eastern Shore. These numbers are now reflected in locality and statewide vaccine dashboards.
As of Thursday, VDH reported 73.8 percent of adults in Arlington have at least one dose and 66.7 percent are fully vaccinated. Although only people 12 and up are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine, 65.1 percent of the total population has at least one dose and 59 percent are fully vaccinated.
VDH also plans to add vaccination data from neighboring jurisdictions in the coming weeks, including North Carolina and the District of Columbia. Data from Tennessee was added in August.
