StoryWalk Highlights Fall Monarch Butterfly Migration

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — In recognition of the fall monarch butterfly migration, children and their loved ones are invited to embark upon a StoryWalk of "Janey Monarch Seed" written by local author and environmentalist Julie Dunlap. A StoryWalk is a deconstructed children's book transformed into signs that are placed along a trail where people can walk along and follow the story from page to page. They can be viewed from Sept. 16 through Sept. 26. A special kickoff event will be held Sept. 16 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Middle Patuxent Environmental Area Trail, 5795 Trotter Rd., Clarksville. There will be a book signing, monarch tagging demonstration and milkweed seed packet craft activity.
