HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Donations of coats, hats, scarves and gloves for men, women and children will be accepted now through October for the winter clothing drives hosted by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the MultiService Center. Any family in need of these supplies may pick up donated items, with no registration or proof of need required. The coat drives benefit families served by the Howard County Public School System Pupil Personnel Services office.
AKA will be accepting donations of new items through Sept. 24 at the Wilde Lake Interfaith Center and the Florence Bain Senior Center. MSC will be accepting donations of new and gently used adult and child-sized coats, gloves, mittens and scarves through Oct. 5. Donations can be made at MSC, 9900 Whiskey Bottom Road, Suite I, Laurel 20723, on the following dates:

MSC will distribute donated items at the North Laurel Community Center Oct. 16 from 1 to 3 p.m. Attendees are required to wear masks and socially distance.
