Description

Serving countless Horry County rescues over the past 20 years, the Grand Strand Humane Society has been the refuge for tens of thousands of animals in need and is currently undergoing necessary renovations by the City of Myrtle Beach to ensure the health and wellbeing of all future rescues. The no-kill humane society has officially opened a temporary home in the heart of Tanger Outlets Myrtle Beach Hwy 501, continuing its mission to provide shelter and care to the lost, homeless, helpless and unwanted animals of the community. “We are honored to serve as Grand Strand Humane Society’s home away from home,” said Tanger Outlets Myrtle Beach Marketing Manager Carlee Dewey. “The organization is known for providing top-notch care and rehabilitation to surrendered animals and impeccable customer service to those looking to adopt. We are always looking for ways to serve our community and this unique opportunity allows us to help continue the good work of uniting deserving local rescues with their forever homes.” The 4,292-square-foot space located in Suite N210, across from Carolina Pottery will host adoptable dogs alongside a back room of adoptable cats. Utilizing heavy foot traffic from the center and the generous space within the building, the humane society plans to open doors daily from noon until 6 p.m. for shoppers to mix and mingle with cuddly creatures and possibly adopt. Adopters can still elect to submit an application through the official Grand Strand Humane Society website and wait to receive a scheduled appointment slot if preferred.
