MARKHAM, IL — A woman was shot while driving on Interstate 57 early Thursday morning and suffered minor injuries, according to Illinois State Police. Data from police shows the shooting is at least the 171st on a Cook County expressway in 2021. The woman drove herself to Holy Cross Hospital after being shot near 155th Street at around 2 a.m. She was transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital where she has non-life-threatening injuries, state police said.
