SOUTHEASTERN PA — Amazon announced a major hiring spree in southeastern Pennsylvania this week as their ongoing expansion in the region continues. A total of 4,800 workers will be hired throughout the Delaware Valley as part of what the company called a nationwide recruitment push to hire 125,000 new employees. That would bring them over one million employees companywide. Plans for five new Amazon delivery stations in Montgomery County and Philadelphia were announced in April. The bulk of the jobs will involve order fulfillment and will be located in these warehouses. Starting wages are at a minimum of $15 an hour and average $18 an hour, with some positions paying up to $22 an hour. Benefits offer up to an additional $3.50 an hour. "We take our responsibility as an employer seriously and want our employees to succeed and thrive," said Dave Clark, CEO of Worldwide Consumer at Amazon. "That's why we offer an average starting wage of over $18 per hour, provide a great range of comprehensive benefits—including healthcare coverage, parental leave, career training, and ways to save for the future—and have a team of thousands working to build a safe and inclusive work environment. Whether you're looking for a short-term job to make money for the holidays or a long-term career, you're welcome here, and we look forward to having you on our team." Specifically, the new Montgomery County locations will be on 1103 Ridge Pike in Conshohocken and 53 West Germantown Pike in East Norriton. In Philadelphia, they're located on 2900 Grant Ave, 700 Ramona Ave, and 6901 Elmwood Ave. Amazon already employs thousands in the Philadelphia region. A total of 250 fulfillment centers have been opened nationwide thus far in 2021. To learn more about the jobs and to apply, see amazon.com/apply.
