Here are the top stories today in Los Angeles: LAPD is still looking for a suspect who shot and killed a man at an LA Metro Station at the Blue Line stop near Washington Boulevard and Long Beach Avenue. Investigators intend to review surveillance footage and encourage anyone with information to contact the LAPD. (FOX 11 Los Angeles) The Los Angeles City Council has moved the date upon which the city will rely entirely upon renewable energy to 2035, up a decade from the previous goal of 2045. The move comes as research from the University of Southern California shows the feasibility of such a project. (Daily Trojan Online) Los Angeles County supervisors have voted unanimously to phase out oil and gas drilling and to ban new drill sites in unincorporated areas of town. The measure was opposed by the California Independent Petroleum Association, which represents nearly 400 oil and gas industry entities. (Bakersfield Now) LA resident Steven Pendley has died after being hit by two separate cars on the Harbor 110 Freeway near West Third Street. The first vehicle to hit Pendley fled the scene, but the second stayed behind to cooperate with authorities. (L.A. Weekly) Los Angeles County is now requiring customers and workers at indoor bars and nightclubs to be vaccinated against COVID-19 beginning in October. The measure was announced by the Los Angeles Health Department and will require at least one dose by October 7 with both doses required by November 4.
