The county pointed out that the budget is comprised of funding for the three main areas of county government: general government services, public safety, and roads & bridges. The budget also includes funding to outside agencies and a cost-of-living raise for employees.
The approved cost of living raise marks the 35th consecutive year the county has done so for its employee.
"The Commission is pleased to pass this year's balanced budget ahead of the October first deadline," Probate Judge Rob Robertson said. "As we continue to work through this pandemic, it is vital to have a sound budget that meets the critical needs of Tuscaloosa County."
