We are looking for a person to help our blind and autistic son with his ADLs (Activities of Daily Living). He is 30 years old. Our son lives in a studio apartment behind our house. He works 5 hours a day. He is a gentle and intelligent. Your job would be to help him with various activities. He needs assistance getting ready for the day, and during work tasks and leisure activities. He loves music, is an avid reader, and has a good sense of humor. He has a severe speech impediment and is difficult to understand, so he uses various alternative communication assistive devices, such typing on a computer keyboard or his braille device.
The ideal person would be someone who understands a little about autism and/or blindness, but that is not required. You should live near enough to the Hillsboro area that your commute time is reasonable. You will need to pass a background check.
