MFS-CASH Oregon is seeking volunteers who wish to train and serve as tax return preparers, greeters and Interpreters (all languages). No experience is necessary, and FREE training is provided. Go to https://volunteers.cashoregon.org/register/ to sign up for an Info Session to learn how to become an IRS-certified volunteer. Why get involved? • Hardworking Oregonians spend hundreds of dollars they cannot afford on tax preparation. You can offer a free alternative in your community. • Low-income tax credits are designed to support working families. • Taxpayers struggle with the increasing complexity of our tax system. We serve senior citizens, people with disabilities, Non-English speakers, immigrants and those without access to the internet. Join us to assist these vulnerable communities. Requirements: • A commitment of a minimum of 4 hours per week during tax season - February 1st to April 15th. • For tax preparers, an average of 40 - 50 hours of online training. • A compassionate, friendly and reliable person who is interested in making a difference in their community Free training - No experience needed - Flexible hours. Training will start in November - January. We will provide the tools and resources so you can pass an IRS online certification test. Gain experience. Enhance your resume. Get involved.
