GeoCal Environmental Management & Landscaping has openings for Full-time Landscape Laborers. This job requires a variety of landscape tasks including; weed control, the trimming of ground covers and hedges, removal of debris using landscaping tools such as hoes and weed whackers, and the setup/removal of traffic control equipment. This is outdoor landscape and Open Space work performed as ongoing regular maintenance. Please send current work experience with references via email.
Duties and responsibilities:
Safe operation of a variety of light duty equipment and vehicles typically used in a Public Works maintenance setting.
Load and unload trucks in a variety of locations along; roadways, sidewalks, medians, and trails.
Mow and edge grass areas.
Traffic control equipment setup and removal.
Operation of two and four cycle motors (weed whacker, mower, leaf blowers, etc).
Weed removal utilizing mechanical and chemical methods.
Repairs to fences and trails.
Seasonal fertilization of ground covers and shrubs.
Invasive species removal.
This work requires standing, walking, squatting and kneeling.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather, exposure to sun, wind, noise.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Experience with hand tools, shovel, a rake pick, etc.
Candidates must be attentive and responsible working within a group and individually.
The desire to work with a crew performing a variety of landscaping projects.
*MUST have Valid & Clean California Drivers license and reliable transportation.
Weed removal utilizing mechanical and chemical methods.
This work requires standing, walking, squatting and kneeling.
Compensation depends on experience
