Description
OK. Issues.
Texas now allows anyone to carry a gun. Imagine you're at a crowded bar on a Friday night. It's late; it's dark and loud, and everybody is half in the bag. Oh yeah, nine or ten of the patrons are carrying.
An argument starts - over politics, you're flirting with my girlfriend, whatever. Nobody really hears anything over the loud music and jabber until a couple of shots are fired. Those nine or ten drunken patrons pull out their pieces, and see several other patrons with THEIR guns drawn. I'm sure it would all end with everyone having funny stories to tell.
Maybe an OCCASIONAL good guy with a gun stops a bad guy with a gun. But you're basically arguing that everyone should have guns with them at all times, because you never know where or when you might encounter that bad guy with a gun. As you yourself say, who knows how you'll react: maybe you'll hit someone else. But that's the risk we have to take; multiplied be everyone carrying a gun.
