Description

2 year old female cat with progressive neuropathy. She isn’t spayed, and should not be bred due to her disorder. We did not have her spayed as she was our only inside cat and never went outdoors. What progressive neuropathy means for you: She can’t walk the best, but can still get around ok. It really means that she is incontinent quite frequently. She will use a litter box, but not regularly. This is our reason for rehoming. I can no longer keep up with her frequent messes wherever she chooses to go. I have tried diapers (which she can’t walk in at all), confining her to a smaller space to limit the places she can go, increasing the scooping of her litter box to every other day, and nothing helps. Which is to be expected. The vet says that with progressive neuropathy, steroid shots will only slow down the progression of her condition, not stop or reverse it, and eventually it will be the cause of her death. Before I catch any hate for “not continuing to take care of her” or something, when I adopted her from a kill shelter two years ago, no one knew she had this condition. Everyone thought she was healthy. I was unprepared to take on a cat with a disorder, even though I’ve tried to make it work for the past two years and give her the best life possible. She’s simply getting worse than I can manage and I would like to find her a home that is prepared for her issues, unlike I was. So please tell me about the home you would be providing her. I might be picky who she goes to. She’d do best in a home with no other pets OR with an area all to herself. She does pretty well with my small dog because he respects her space. She actually does better with him than she does my brother’s cat, with whom they take turns stalking each other. And she does NOT do well with lots of excitement or strangers coming in to pet her really fast, which makes me think a home with small children may not bode well. Fun facts about Willow: She loves to catch insects that stray indoors. She is very nocturnal. She LOVES feet. Please rub her face with your feet. She needs it. She is not declawed, but is used to wearing claw caps. She will come with any food, treats, litter, puppy pads, and claw caps we have left. Please text only if you think you can provide her the home she needs! P.S. I won't be sending any codes.
