Description
Hello,
Does anyone know what is going on with all the weird Craigslist responses that are received after making a LEGITIMATE posting of an item for sale? Regardless of what the item is, I get an immediate text message from "someone" who wants to buy it sight unseen, no questions asked. Is this a robot or what? The contact gives me an e-mail address and asks me to write to that address rather than using the CL mail relay. I responded as requested ONE TIME just to see what would happen. I got an e-mail back from an entirely different address than the one I was first given, telling me that the "buyer" would love to see the motorscooter I have for sale but didn't have time. He would send me a cashier's check after receiving my mailing address. I immediately blocked him from contacting me again. I received other messages through my CL mail relay, but in each case I was asked to send my personal e-mail address. I ignored those messages. Are there ANY legitimate customers on Craigslist anymore? I posted some furniture for sale a few months ago and had the exact same experience as this. Are these people after personal e-mail accounts for SPAM purposes? Are they trying to get access to physical addresses for some reason? I know they're up to SOMETHING; I'm just not sure what!
