Description
This breaks my heart to have to make this post, but due to how overwhelming my life has become, I can no longer care for my rats. They're two males, both over 2 years old (Cookie was born in May 2019 and Butterbean, the hairless one, was born in August 2019). My dear mother in law has just entered home hospice in my home, and that was honestly the final nail in the coffin for my ability to keep it together enough to take care of them well. I've been struggling for a long time before this and haven't paid them enough attention, even though they have been physically cared for always. They're both gentle, but have never been cuddly rats. Cookie enjoys exploration time much more than Butterbean, who is much more timid. I will also give you everything I have for them, including a bin cage, almost full bag of food, empty boxes, hammocks, etc. I feel incredibly sad and guilty about having to do this, but they deserve more than I have been able to give them.
I am on the far north side of Chicago, near Lincolnwood.
