A brief community remembrance event for USCT veteran Nicholas Snowden, lynched in 1885.
On the anniversary date of when a mob took military veteran Nicholas Snowden from the Ellicott City jail in the middle of the night to dispense their own justice before he could have a trial, we will hold an event to begin to restore some dignity to his name. A US Colored Troop re-enactor will be there to symbolize Nicholas. Come if you’re moved to. This will be the 1st, but not the last that we do for him.
